Average rating of 5/5 Review, 2010-02-24
Great film, great performances. The best I have seen in the last few months. Truly recommended.

Average rating of 5/5 The World Unseen, 2009-07-23
Beautifully filmed story focusing no only on the main characters but also on the political problems of the time, having discrimination as a main subject.

Average rating of 4/5 short but sweet, 2009-06-21
An interesting story and I've since bought the book, as the film is quite short and seems to skip to the highlights of the story. In this respect there's not much depth to the characters, although they do try (in the limited time they have). Despite that it's enjoyable and a different take on the usual high-school or rom-com 'girl-meets-girl' story. There are a couple of linering moments between the women but if you're looking for sex scenes forget it - this is the 1950s in south africa afterall! For the price I would defo recommend it.

Average rating of 5/5 Great film, 2010-02-07
Fantastic screening, scenery and casting. Good depiction of the south african society under apartheid in those times.

Average rating of 5/5 Challenging, relevant issue-based filmmaking - essential viewing, 2010-02-15
Bought this because of the cute girls on the cover, and really liked the short film they were in on this collection. I wasn't expecting this to be such a thought-provoking viewing experience. Judging by the reviews here it seems like people either love or hate this compilation. Also, it seems that it is appreciated more by women who are interested in edgier, alternative arthouse cinema rather than teenage girls who gush over the L Word OMG LOL etc. Of course it isn't 'If These Walls Could Talk 2' - that is a high-end production which had a big budget and Hollywood stars. This is indie filmmaking at its best. It amazes me how the lesbian community can be their own harshest critics. Also, judging by some of the reviews written below, it seems that some people fail to grasp the essence of what a short film actually is. Namely, that it is SHORT and provides an insight or snippet rather than an entire happy clappy beginning-middle-end story. Another reviewer said there were negative stereotypes!? I thought the film with the abusive girlfriend was excellently shot and was a film that dared to tackle an issue that is relevant and rarely exposed. It annoys me how lesbians today go crazy over trashy glossy shows like L Word but then cry foul when they watch something edgier with a brain that actually portrays relevant and challenging subject matter.
