Daniel Craig hasn't lost a step since Casino Royale--this James Bond remains dangerous, a man who could earn that license to kill in brutal hand-to-hand combat… but still look sharp in a tailored suit. And Quantum of Solance itself carries on from the previous film like no other 007 movie, with Bond nursing his anger from the Casino Royale storyline and vowing blood revenge on those responsible. For the new plot, we have villain Mathieu Amalric (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), intent on controlling the water rights in impoverished Third World nations and happy to overthrow a dictator or two to get his way. Olga Kurylenko is very much in the "Bond girl" tradition, but in the Ursula Andress way, not the Denise Richards way. And Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright, and Giancarlo Giannini are welcome holdovers. If director Marc Forster and the longtime Bond production team seem a little too eager to embrace the continuity-shredding style of the Bourne pictures (especially in a nearly incomprehensible opening car chase), they nevertheless quiet down and get into a dark, concentrated groove soon enough. And the theme song, "Another Way to Die," penned by Jack White and ...

I bought this because I liked the previous film so much and because I have now a Blu-ray home cinema system, I was not dissapointed, however I am not sure it's as goof as Daniel Craig's first outing as 007. Good enough though to enjoy.

It’s hard not to feel like one has entered a certain dimension of video-game logic while watching Hitman, a lightly enjoyable action-suspense movie indeed based on a popular and bloody game about a mysterious hired gun with a bar-code tattoo on his bald head and a number (47) in lieu of a name. Living like a chaste monk while slipping past borders to kill his targets, 47 (Timothy Olyphant of Deadwood) moves like a determined shark and speaks softly to his contact at the enigmatic "the Organization," which raises cast-off children to become well-paid assassins. Fruitlessly pursued by an Interpol cop (Dougray Scott) who can never get sovereign governments to cooperate, 47 has no trouble slipping in and out of countries to ply his trade. Until, that is, he’s set up to take a fall in Russia by shooting a national leader who is promptly replaced by a lookalike double. Suddenly on the run, 47 has to retrace his steps and formulate a lethal plan for extricating himself from a trap. Caught in the chaos is the lovely Nika (Olga Kurylenko), forced into sex slavery by 47’s new enemies and the one person who seems uniquely qualified to break through 47’s many personal bar...

Average rating of 5/5 Hitman On Blu-Ray is Superb, 2009-05-26
Having seen this in the cinema, I had to buy it on Blu-Ray and I wasn't disappointed. The special features which range from demo's of each weapon, to deleted scenes are also great to watch. There is over an hour of extras which will keep you entertained. If you enjoyed watching this in the cinema then I would strongly recommend this on Blu-Ray, it will be a great addition to your collection.

Average rating of 5/5 A SURREAL STEAMY STORY, 2009-07-29
The Ring Finger [DVD] [2005]
The stunning Olga Kurylenko stars in this erotic tale of a young woman's increasingly fetishistic relationship with her new Employer. Iris(Olga) is 20 years old and looking for work. She comes across a strange laboratory where she gets a job as an assistant. Clients come in regularly, bringing with them all sorts of personal possessions which are preserved forever. Things turn strange when her employer requires her to wear red high heels and without fully grasping what is at play around her,
she is drawn into a dark world of sexual obsession. The film is based on a novel by Yoko Ogawa. Beth Gibbons provides the soul-stirring score. The film is directed by Diane Bertrand. The DVD is in 16:9 Anamorphic widescreen presentation. The Language is French, but there are subtitles in English. The film is undoubtedly like an erotic haunted dream.

Average rating of 4/5 French thriller than feels like a British film, 2010-02-13
I don't think that this is as good as something such as Mesrine, but this film has a degree of grit and style about it which takes the film several notches over other attempts by French cinema to produce something that can match the more mainstream American cop film. For me, this film probably suceeds simply for the fact that it is based upon a novel by the author of cult British thriller "Get Carter" and results in something more akin to what we British usually make a crime thrillers. These comparisons are not too far fetched although the story does seem to stretch the credibility. However, with something so edge-of-the seat as this, surely the suspence of belief is half of the appeal.

The story concerns a photographer who is set up by a blackmailer for the murder of a model played by Bond girl Olga Kurylenko and who works his way into his victim's life gradually resulting in the police believing he is the criminal as opposed to the credible criminal played with threatening presence by Clovis Cornillac. The storyline twists and turns with the principle character increasingly finding himself in hot water as we start to learn the motives of the perpetrator.

All in all, this is a slick and styling thriller, not too violent and certainly good enough to give most Hollywood films of a similar ilk a good run for their money in the excitement stakes. I found it to be exciting and a marked improvement on something like the over-rated "Tell no one" which seems like an episode of "Murder she wrote" by comparison. The violence is not gratuitous and the plot intriguing enough to keep you hooked. I thought that this was a great film, much in the spirit of British gangster films and certainly good enough to dispell any doubts about sub-titles if this is something you dislike about foriegn films. Decidedly mainstream, I would give the thumbs up to this suspence thriller. Recommended.
